On the evening Sunday 25th February 2018, there was sadly an explosion on Hinckley Road in Leicester. This being such a local incident to Leicester, I decided to produce an initial report into this for the news section of the university‘s student media TV strand.

Due to the sudden nature of this project, and the topic of news, quick action was required to pull a report together for this.

On the evening of the incident, I followed live reports in order to write a script for the reporter to deliver to camera the next day. I also arranged all the kit and crew needed for shooting the following day.

On the next day we shot the report, before being invited by the Police Media liason officer to interview lead Police and Fire officers. We later returned to conduct the interviews, alongside some main UK media outlets on location.

Overnight and into the next day the report was edited, due to the importance of getting this out as soon as possible.
